Press Release for moreTrees Clothing Company 2016
Founded over a decade ago, moreTrees clothing company offers urban streetwear with a twist -- it’s made with blends of Organic Cotton, Hemp, and Recycled P.E.T. (plastic soda bottles). Catering to masses fed up with corporate irresponsibility, moreTrees is designed and Made in America so the whole process is ethical and genuinely sustainable. Their production facility received the global compliance certification for social responsibility!
moreTrees has been featured on MTV’s Think Tank, in E: The Environmental Magazine, The Yogi Times, Treehugger, and The Utne Reader.
More and more people are demanding ethical products. Conventional cotton is the #1 user of pesticides in the world! Conventional cotton production pollutes the water, the soil, cotton workers, and our bodies. Organic cotton presents a soft, ethical, and luxurious alternative.
Recycled P.E.T., made from Recycled Plastic Soda Bottles, produces an absolutely amazing, versatile, and wrinkle-free fabric.
The luxury Hemp fabrics moreTrees uses require no pesticides. They promote re-legalizing industrial hemp farming in America, which is currently illegal due to corporate lobbying from synthetic and timber competitors back in 1937. Hemp can provide over 25,000 products, including housing material, fuel, papers, cosmetics, and bio-plastics. It used to be illegal to not grow hemp in America, because it's such an essential, easily renewable crop!
The transition toward hemp production and other bio-resources can end our damaging dependence on foreign oil, synthetic plastics, clear-cutting forests, and conventional cotton production. Utilizing hemp as an alternative resource is essential to save our remaining forests, rescue polluted waterways, revitalize the economy for farmers, and ensure that our future biosphere will be breathable. Hemp can stop war!
moreTrees productions has given away over 500 baby trees. They produce videos about guerilla urban gardening. and plant trees with Nobel Peace Prize Winner Wangari Maathaii’s Greenbelt Movement. New hemp hoodies and sweats are scheduled for release this Febuary, and a new T-shirt line is forthcoming as well.
The moreTrees founder and Creative Director, Meghan Oona Clifford, completed her Bachelors at Evergreen State College in WA in ethical business and fashion design, then obtained her Masters in Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute. She started designing over a decade ago, selling her styles on various music tours, which evolved into the widely distributed moreTrees label today. The company calls Santa Cruz home, with a production house in L.A.
moreTrees produces the coolest eco streetwear ever because they combine expert design and organic green culture with superior tailoring to offer the most flattering fit. Their clientele proudly sports moreTrees gear to spread the universal message of ecological renewal.
